More life lessons from a toddler

E's newest habit is to remind and reassure himself and us of just how capable he is.

I'm a big boy, Mommy! he says before he sits down at the top of a new slide at the park.
I did it, Mommy and Daddy! he says as he he pulls up his pants while walking out of the bathroom.
I'm a big strong boy! he says as he helps me carry a basket of laundry down the stairs.

He reminds me to be confident before facing a new obstacle, to congratulate myself on a job well done and to believe in myself even when things seem too tough to overcome. Reminding me, teaching me and inspiring me always.

When life gets crazy...

There's been a lot going on in our little family lately.  House stuff, bronchitis for the big man, fever for the little man. One stressed out tired Mama.  When everything settles I'll be sure to write more.  I have so much to write, so much to share...

This weekend what we really needed was fresh air, quiet and a little physical activity to calm our nerves. So we hit the trails to visit our little friends.

Ahh...just what we needed.  Now to tackle the week ahead!

Wacky Wednesday {Santa in March}

The other night we have a lot of running around to do as a family and decided to also treat ourselves to a dinner out.  When heading out the door E decided that he must wear his Santa hat that he dug out of the toy box.  He was very adamant, proclaiming that he must wear it to get ready for Christmas time. I originally said no because there isn't much to the hat and it was freezing out, but when we realized how set he was on wearing it we embraced his wackiness.  So, we paraded our little Santa around the city and at the restaurant, smiling through the stares and double-takes.  Isn't this exactly what being a kid is all about? So much fun!
